SUBJECT:
WIND NOISE FROM UPPER WINDSHIELD AREA AT SPEEDS OVER 50 MPH
MODELS:
ALL 405 VEHICLES
COMPLAINT:
A high-pitched wind noise that increases with speed over 50 MPH. The origin of the noise may be difficult for the driver to pinpoint as it may appear to
emanate from the dashboard vents or glove box area.
CORRECTION:
Apply a bead of adhesive (from the windshield bonding kit, Part No. 9798.96) under the rubber windshield seal at the top center of the windshield, as
shown below. Ensure that the adhesive bead is a minimum of 8 cm (3.15 inches) in length.
NOTE:
This operation should be performed whenever it is necessary to replace a windshield.
