Thermal Vacuum Valve: Testing and Inspection
NOTE:
Engine temperature must be below 125-131 F (51-55 C).
Procedure
1. Remove air cleaner.
2. Install thermometer in series with automatic choke wax pellet switch heating line.
3. Disconnect center hose at vacuum amplifier (port R, dark blue ring). Connect hose to vacuum gauge.
4. Start engine and observe gauge or unit for vacuum. When engine temperature reaches 125-131~ (51-55~), hose should have manifold vacuum. If
not, thermovalve should be replaced.
