Warning: Before attempting to diagnose, remove or install any airbag system components, unless otherwise noted, you must first disconnect
and isolate battery ground cable. Failure to do so could result in accidental deployment and possible personal injury.
Left Sensor
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then wait at least 10 minutes before working on vehicle.
2.
Disconnect speed control servo from battery tray.
3.
Remove battery, battery tray and coolant bottle.
4.
Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
5.
Remove three screws holding sensor to radiator closure panel and remove sensor.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque mounting screws to 100 in lb.
7.
Do not connect battery ground cable. Refer to Air Bag Systems/Testing and Inspection/Procedures for proper procedure.
Right Sensor
1.
Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable, then wait at least 2 minutes before working on vehicle.
2.
Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
3.
Remove three screws holding sensor to engine side of closure panel and remove right sensor.
4.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque mounting screws to 100 in lb.
5.
Do not connect battery ground cable. Refer to Testing & Inspection/Procedures for proper procedure.
