SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Subject model vehicles may exhibit a "sag" at the rear of the headliner, in the area above the backlite, while the vehicle is standing still, and/or a "flutter"
or up and down movement when the vehicle is moving.
This condition may be resolved by using the following repair procedure and parts.
PARTS REQUIRED
Each vehicle will need two (2) of the appropriate color button fasteners.
2 - H452AA3 - Silver
2 - H452BL3 - Beige
2 - H452BB5 - Blue
2 - H452CK5 - Saddle
2 - H452 TM6 - Red
REPAIR PROCEDURE
FIGURE 1 - Headliner Repair
1.
At rear of headliner, measure to locate exact center of the vehicle (Figure 1, point 1).
2.
Measure 7-7/8" from center line to right (driver's side) along rear edge of headliner (Figure 1, point 2).
3.
From point 2, measure directly forward 2" (Figure 1, point 3).
4.
Probe point 3 with a straight pin or needle to locate an existing hole in the sheetmetal (approximately 1/4" hole).
5.
Using a small punch or awl, carefully punch a 1/4" hole through the headliner at this hole.
6.
Insert appropriate button fastener.
7.
Secure fastener by pushing pin through the center of the fastener until flush.
