1.

Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.

2.

Remove accessory drive belts, water pump pulley and the timing belt cover.

3.

Rotate crankshaft in normal direction of rotation until crankshaft and camshaft timing marks are aligned as shown in Fig. 38.

Loosen tension nut and bolt, disengage tensioner spring from water pump and remove belt tensioner. Do not rotate crankshaft with belt
tensioner removed.

5.

Disconnect hoses, then remove water pump bolts, water pump and gasket.

6.

Reverse procedure to install. Refer to "Timing Belt, Replace" to install tensioner and adjust timing belt tension.
