HVAC Control Buttons Or Rotary Knobs Stick/Hard To Move
MODELS:
1996 (NS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
HVAC control buttons and rotary knobs stick or have become hard to move. Often, this is because sticky beverages have splashed onto to the control
from the cupholder below.
DIAGNOSIS:
Operate all buttons and rotary knobs to determine if any are sticking/hard to move. If any button or rotary knob is found to be sticking/hard to move,
perform the Repair Procedure.

Mopar MP-50
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves cleaning/lubricating the sticky buttons/knobs with Mopar MP-50.
1.
Unsnap and remove the screw access cover below the bottom of the HVAC control.
2.
Remove the attaching screws at the bottom of the HVAC control bezel.
3.
Remove the attaching screws at the top of the HVAC control bezel.
4.
Separate the HVAC control bezel from the instrument panel.
5.
Disconnect the wire connector(s) from the HVAC control and remove the control from the vehicle.
NOTE:
MOPAR MP-50 WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE SURFACES OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IMMEDIATELY WIPE OFF
ANY MOPAR MP-50 THAT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH INSTRUMENT PANEL.
6.
Shake the can of MP-5O well and apply a few drops (do not apply excessively) into the sticking button(s) and/or knobs(s) using the application
tube provided with the MP-50.
7.
Operate the sticking button(s) and/or rotary knob(s) to work the MP-50 in.
8.
With a soft cloth, immediately wipe off any excess MP-50 that may have gotten onto the bezel as it may cause spotting or streaking.
9.
Repeat steps 6 thru 8 as necessary until the button(s) and/or knob(s) operate smoothly.
10.
Allow the MP-50 to dry then install the HVAC control.
NOTE:
THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CLEANING THE TEMPERATURE SLIDER(S) OR THE REAR BLOWER SWITCH.
POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
