Body Control Module: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

NAME OF CODE

Door Lock Switch Failure

WHEN MONITORED

Any time battery voltage is above 10.0 volts and the BCM is awake.

SET CONDITION

The BCM senses a voltage on the door lock switch output (lock) circuit for longer than 4 seconds.

THEORY OF OPERATION

The BCM interfaces with the power door lock switch. Each switch when activated will send a 12 volt signal to the BCM. The BCM will monitor
the switch for a stuck condition (active for more than 4 seconds) and set this code.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

-

Stuck switch.

-

Door lock switch output (lock) circuit shorted to voltage

-

Switch held in lock position too long.

-

Defective BCM.
