Constant Velocity Joint: Description and Operation
All Wheel Drive
The axle shafts transmit the rotating force from the rear axle to the hub/bearing assemblies. These shafts include: a solid axle shaft, an inner tripod
joint designed to stroke axially that has a triobular housing with a bushing and a thermoplastic boot clamped on the axle, an outer fixed center joint
which also uses a thermoplastic boot. The axle joint assemblies have been lubricated and sealed at the factory and do not require periodic lubrication.
