Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the oil level indicator.
2. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt and tube.If you are unable to remove the oil level indicator tube, perform the following steps:
1. Apply penetrating oil to the bottom of the oil level indicator tube.
2. Move the oil level indicator tube back and forth in order to loosen the oil level indicator tube.
Installation Procedure
1. Clean the oil level indicator tube.
2. Apply GM sealant P/N 12345739 or equivalent around the oil level indicator tube 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) below the bead.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the oil level indicator tube and bolt.
Tighten bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the oil level indicator.
