necessary to disable the SIR components in that zone. It may be necessary to disable more than one zone depending on the location of other SIR
components and the area being serviced, refer to SIR Zone Identification Views (Aztek) SIR Zone Identification Views (Rendezvous). Refer to the
illustration, to identify the specific zone or zones in which service will be performed. After identifying the zone or zones, proceed to the disabling and
enabling procedures for that particular zone or zones.

DISABLING PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT:  Refer to SIR Service Precautions.

1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Remove the console accessory wiring junction block access hole cover.

IMPORTANT:  With the SIR Fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate
an SIR system malfunction.

5. Remove the SIR Fuse.

6. Remove the orange connector position assurance (CPA) (2) from the yellow sensor harness connector (3).
7. Disconnect the harness connector from the sensor (1).

ENABLING PROCEDURE
