Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
LEFT SIDE
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove mass airflow sensor, air intake duct and crankcase ventilation pipe.
3.
Remove two bolts attaching exhaust crossover pipe to manifold.
4.
Disconnect spark plug wires from spark plugs.
5.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts and the exhaust manifold. The dipstick and tube may be removed to provide additional clearance.
6.
Reverse procedure to install.
RIGHT SIDE
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove mass airflow sensor, air intake duct and crankcase ventilation pipe.
3.
Disconnect IAC wiring connector from throttle body.
4.
Remove two bolts attaching exhaust crossover pipe to manifold.
5.
Disconnect spark plug wires from spark plugs.
6.
Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical lead.
7.
Remove heater inlet pipe from manifold studs.
8.
Remove alternator support bracket.
9.
Remove exhaust manifold bolts.
10.
Raise and support vehicle.
11.
Remove exhaust pipe to manifold bolts.
12.
Remove front exhaust pipe.
13.
Remove exhaust manifold.
14.
Reverse procedure to install.
