If an owner of a 1988 Bonneville with base P205/75R14 tires expresses a concern of ride harshness or lack of ride comfort due to suspension hardness,
which cannot be corrected with normal service procedures; the cold tire pressure may be lowered to 30 psi (210 kpa) from the tire placard recommended
35 psi (240 kpa) pressure. The dealer is to inform the owner that 30 psi is recommended for improved ride and is adequate to meet all applicable Federal
Motor Vehicle standards, including wear and GVMR loading. The owner's manual cautions on high speed applications still apply.
This bulletin applies only to the base P205/75R14 tire which is the only tire using 35 psi. Both the 15" and 16" tires use 30 psi as recommended tire
placard pressure.
