If the retention problem is on the right side of the grille, assure the "All pillar lower trim is notched (see illustration). If no notch is present, rework
the lower molding per the illustration.

If the hook and loop material has separated from the metal clip which is attached to the instrument panel, the clip must be replaced using part
number 16751178.

To achieve maximum retention from the metal clips attached to the defroster grille, the following should be performed to the clip:

a.

Remove the felt insulator from the metal clip.

b.

Snip the lower portion of the forward leg of the metal clips (below the knee) and reinstall the grille.
