Fuel Rail: Description and Operation

The fuel rail is mounted directly above the engine intake manifold runners. At one end, high pressure fuel enters and is made available to the
individual injectors. At the other end, a fuel pressure regulator is mounted to keep the fuel pressure at a steady level. Remaining fuel is returned to the
fuel tank, Fig. 2.
