to have slight slack. Place retainer over swivel and chain assembly. Retainer must be made to rest between balls. Cut off chain flush with side of swivel
to remove excess length. Chain slack should not exceed one half diameter of ball stud, .150 inch, when measured at hot idle position.

Cable Adjustment, Pontiac Built Engines

1.

Set carburetor choke to hot idle position.

2.

With cable connected to vacuum servo, pull steel tube of servo as far as it will go and check if one of the cross holes in the steel tube aligns with
carburetor lever pin.

3.

If one of the cross holes in the steel tube aligns with carburetor lever pin, install the tube, washer and cotter pin.

4.

If none of the cross holes in the steel aligns with carburetor lever pin, move tube rearward to align the next closest hole and install cable, washer
and cotter pin. Do not stretch cable to make adjustment, as this will prevent carburetor from returning to normal idle.

Cable Adjustment, Chevrolet Built Engines Less Electronic Fuel Injection

1.

Assemble cable to cable bracket and throttle lever.

2.

Install cable assembly onto servo bracket.

3.

Place throttle in fully closed position. Attach servo chain to cable assembly with first two beads of servo chain hanging loose outside cable
assembly clip.

4.

Adjust cable assembly jam nuts until there is a .03 inch clearance between throttle lever stud pin and end of slot on throttle cable assembly. Torque
jam nuts to 35---48 inch lbs. Pull rubber boot over washer on cable.

Cable Adjustment, Chevrolet Built Engines With Electronic Fuel Injection

1.

Assemble cable to cable bracket and TBI lever and servo bracket.

2.

Place throttle in fully closed position. Attach servo chain to cable assembly with first two beads of servo chain hanging loosely outside cable
assembly clip.

3.

Adjust cable jam nuts until cable sleeve at TBI unit is tight but not holding throttle open. Torque jam nuts to 35---48 inch lbs. Pull rubber boot
over washer on cable. 

Rod Adjustment, Oldsmobile Built Engines
    Adjust length of rod to minimum slack with carburetor in hot idle position and the engine static.

Rod Adjustment, Chevrolet Built Engines
    Screw rod into link with ignition ``Off'' and fast idle cam off and throttle closed. Hook rod through tab on servo. Adjust length so link assemblies over
end of stud, then install retainer.
