Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

Sensor--mounted on the carburetor body and actuated by the accelerator pump lever or a cam on the throttle shaft--sends a varying DC voltage
signal to the ECM representing throttle position.

When the throttle plates are closed sensor output is less than 1.0 Volts.

As plates are opened sensor voltage rises to a maximum of 5 volts.
