INFORMATION ON A NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID FILTER AND FILTER SEAL
1987 PARISIENNE AND FIREBIRD MODELS EQUIPPED WITH THM 700-R4
BULLETIN COVERS:
A new design THM 700-R4 transmission fluid filter and filter seal, that eliminates the potential for transmission noise caused by air suction through the
transmission filter.. The new design transmission filter is a wider filter that has a felt element in place of the screen element and has a shorter filter neck.
The filter has a molded body that locates over the valve body bolts, thus eliminating the need for the filter retainer clip (87). The new design filter seal
(70) is a wider compression type seal that fits snug in its bore.

Beginning July 8, 1987 (Julian date 187) all 1987 THM 700-R4 transmissions were produced with the new design transmission filter (71) and filter seal
(70).
