This Service Bulletin supersedes Pontiac Bulletin 85-7-12 dated March 1985, which should be destroyed.
Some 1982 through 1985 THM 700-R4 transmission models may exhibit a firm or harsh 1-2 shift condition. After the complaint has been verified,
inspect the T.V. cable for proper operation and adjustment. (Follow the T.V. cable adjustment procedures contained in the appropriate Service
Information Manual.) If the T.V. system is operating properly, a service package (see charts) may be required to correct the condition. Adjustment of the
T.V. cable will also be required after repairs have been made to the transmission.
