1987 FIREBIRD AND FIERO NOISE REGULATIONS

This is to advise that the 1987 Firebird equipped with 5.0 liter engine (LG4), automatic transmission (MXO), 2.73:1 axle (GU2) and 1987 Fiero
equipped with 2.5 liter engine (LR8), automatic transmission (MXI) and 2.84:1 axles (F17), should not be sold in certain areas because of vehicle
exterior noise regulation requirements.

IL, Urbana, IL, Prairie Village, KS

Please be aware that this includes vehicles in dealer inventory that fall into the following VIN breakpoint constraints:

Firebird Van Nuys:

SOP up to HL 207009 - Norwood:  SOP up to HN 212829

Fiero Pontiac:

SOP up to HP 213018

You may sell these vehicles in non-noise regulated areas.

In order to make the above mentioned Firebird and Fiero vehicles saleable, they must be retro-fitted with new mufflers. The SPO (Service Parts
Operation, formerly known as GMWDD) part numbers are as follows:

FIREBIRD

14080760 - muffler

FIERO

10053759 - muffler
10064943 - rear hanger 10052111 - tailpipe spout

To ensure that these replacement parts will be obtained as soon as possible, they should be ordered from SPO on a C.I.O. order with no special
instructions code but on an advise code (2).

A warranty claim should be submitted for parts and labor in a normal manner.
