Lubricating Front Brake Caliper Bolt And Bushing
1. Lubricate inner diameters of caliper bolt bushings (3) with silicone grease.
2. Lubricate caliper bolts with silicone grease (2).
a. Inspect Caliper bolts (2) should slide through bolt bushings (3) using only hand pressure. If greater force is required or mechanical assistance
is needed, remove caliper bolt (2) along with bushing (3).
b. Inspect Mounting bores for corrosion. If mounting bores show signs of corrosion, remove corrosion using a 1-inch wheel cylinder brush. Clean
mounting bores with clean denatured alcohol.
c. Replace bolt bushings. Tighten Front brake caliper bolts (2) to 51 Nm (38 ft. lbs.).
3. Caliper housing (12) onto rotor (1) and knuckle (18).
4. Brake hose fitting (14), new copper gaskets, and brake hose (16) to caliper housing (12), if removed. Tighten Front brake hose fitting (14) to 44
Nm (32 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove wheel nuts securing rotor (1).
6. Tire and wheel.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Fill master cylinder reservoir to proper level. If brake hose (16) was removed, bleed caliper.
