Firebird V8-350 5.7L VIN P SFI (1996)
Radiator: Service and Repair
1. On models equipped with ram air, remove hold down bolts, air box cover and air filter.
2. On all models, remove air intake duct and air cleaner.
3. On models equipped with ram air, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect electrical connector from air temperature sensor.
b. Remove vent hose clamp and hose from lower air box.
c. Remove clamp attaching rubber shoulder from lower air box to mass air flow sensor.
d. Remove bolt attaching lower air box to radiator support and lower box from vehicle.
4. On all models, raise and support vehicle.
5. Drain coolant and remove electrical connectors at engine coolant fans.
6. Remove radiator upper mounting panel.
7. Remove electric engine coolant fan, transmission oil cooler lines and coolant level indicator module, if equipped.
8. Lower vehicle and loosen receiver dehydrator bracket.
9. Remove upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose at water pump.
10. Remove overflow tube, then the condenser from radiator.
11. Remove radiator from vehicle.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Make sure radiator is seated on radiator insulators.
b. Add engine coolant and inspect for leaks.
c. Torque upper mounting panel to 9 ft. lbs.
