Fig. 16 Power Steering Pump Replacement

1. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine coolant.
2. Remove serpentine belt, then lower vehicle and remove front air intake duct.
3. Remove alternator, radiator outlet hose and heater inlet/outlet hoses from water pump. Also, remove throttle body heater return from heater outlet

hose and pump bolts.

4. Remove pump mounting bolts, Figs. 15 and 16,.and then disconnect inlet and reservoir hoses from pump and remove pump.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Tighten fasteners to specifications.
b. Refill and bleed power steering system.
