Note

The original Elesys Passenger Presence System (PPS) is no longer available and is being replaced by an IEE PPS.

If SI diagnostics leads to replacement of the PPS, the seat wiring harness will need to be revised. Follow the steps below for PPS replacement and seat
wiring harness revisions.

1. Verify that DTC B0081 is set in the Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM).
2. Using a scan tool, identify which system you have on the vehicle. For 2006 MY, follow tool screen path: Data Display, SIR, System

Configuration, PPS Supplier. For 2007 MY, follow tool screen path: SIR, Data Display, System Configuration, PPS Supplier. 

1. If the PPS supplier identified is Elesys, perform the Passenger Presence System Flash Code Procedure as outlined in SI to determine PPS

DTCs. Follow the PPS DTC SI instructions. If the resolution is to replace the PPS, continue to step 3. If the resolution is not to replace the
PPS, disregard this bulletin and continue to follow SI instructions.

2. If the PPS supplier identified is IEE, perform the Passenger Presence System Displaying Code Procedure on the scan tool. Follow the PPS

DTC SI instructions. If the resolution is to replace the PPS, refer to Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Replacement - Front (IEE
System) in SI. If diagnosis is not to replace the PPS, disregard this bulletin and continue to follow SI instructions.

3. Remove the Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence Module from the seat frame. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System

Replacement - Front (Elesys System with Heated Seat) or Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Replacement - Front (Elesys System
without Heated Seat) in SI.

4. Install the new Passenger Presence System Kit, which includes the seat cushion pad, PPS mat and PPS module. Pass the PPS harness through the

seat frame as shown above.

If the original seat included an attached seat cushion heater, you will need to order a new seat cushion heater and replace separately from the PPS
kit. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Cushion Heater Replacement (IEE System) in SI.

5. Use the following procedures for revising the seat wiring harness:
