This bulletin is being updated to add the 2007 model year and to clarify the symptoms by models. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number
06-08-64-008 (Section 08 - Body & Accessories).
This bulletin provides information on reinitializing power windows if the side window glass does not index up or down during entry/exit (on any model
listed above) and/or if the power top is inoperative (on Cadillac XLR and Chevrolet Corvette models only). On some models, the window express
up/down feature also may be inoperative until the windows have been reinitialized.
The side window glass may not index and/or the power top may be inoperative because the side door window glass may not have been properly
initialized or reinitialized after a loss of power. Whenever battery power has been lost or disconnected. The windows must be reinitialization. The
windows must also be reinitialized after a door module has been disconnected or replaced.
Do NOT replace any parts for this condition.
Reinitialize the windows after any interruption or disconnection of battery power, following the Power Window Reinitialization procedure in SI.
