Valve Lifter Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement   (See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement   (See: Rocker Arm Assembly/Service and

Repair).

Note:  The valve lifter guide bolts are not removable.

3. Loosen the valve lifter guide bolts.
4. Remove the valve lifter guides.

5. Remove the valve lifters from the valve lifter guides.
