Muffler Replacement (LY7, LZ9)

Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LY7, LZ9) (3.6L, 3.9L)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. If equipped, remove the frame brace. Refer to Frame Brace Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Frame/Structural Brace/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the exhaust pipe to muffler nuts.

4. With the aid of an assistant, separate the muffler insulators from the hangers, if equipped with a 3.9L engine.
5. Remove the muffler assembly.
