Alternator: Service and Repair

Generator Replacement (LZ9) (3.9L)

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection   (See: Battery/Battery Cable/Service and

Repair).

2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Coupe)   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and

Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Drive Belt Replacement (Coupe))Drive Belt Replacement (Convertible)   (See: Engine, Cooling and

3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector.
4. Reposition the generator rubber boot (3).
5. Remove the engine harness terminal nut (1).
6. Remove the engine harness terminal (2).
