Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization Procedure During PDI
Models:
2008-2009 Pontiac G8, G8 GT
with Sunroof (RPO CF5)
G8 sunroofs may lose calibration during ocean transit with disconnection of power to the sunroof and manual movement of the glass. There is a
procedure in the Service Manual to re-initialize the sunroof electronic control unit. (Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Synchronization in SI.)
Sunroof operation should be verified during PDI. Failure to test and initialize sunroof operation could lead to the sunroof being inoperative. This
initialization will only take a few seconds.
Initialization Procedure
Important:
Complete the entire procedure, including Steps 3 and 4.
1.
Turn the sunroof dial to the full vent position (1).
2.
Press and hold the sunroof dial switch in for a minimum of five seconds to activate the sunroof initialization process. The sunroof will move to the
hard stop position and will stop in the soft stop position.
3.
Release the switch for no more than two seconds.
4.
Press and hold the switch in again until all movement stops.
5.
Verify the operation of the sunroof in all positions.
