Heater Hose: Service and Repair

Heater Outlet Hose Replacement
Tools Required
J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution (See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Safety Glasses Warning) .
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Engine Cover Replacement) .
Important: Mark the position of the heater outlet hose (1) and the heater outlet hose retaining clamp (2) before removal to make sure of
correct alignment during assembly.
3. Using J 38185 compress the heater outlet hose retaining clamp (2) and slide along the heater outlet hose (1).
4. Disconnect the heater outlet hose (1) from the heater core outlet pipe (3).
Important: Using a suitable tool, detach the heater outlet hose (1) by releasing the heater outlet hose quick connect fitting retaining clip
(3).
5. Detach the heater outlet hose (1) from the heater outlet pipe quick connect fitting (2).
