Perform Brake Pedal Position Sensor (BPP) Calibration Using Tech 2(R)

2008-2009 Pontiac G8

Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to correct the abbreviation for the brake pedal position sensor. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-05-22-005A
(Section 05 - Brakes).
A customer may comment on one or all of the following conditions:

The brake lights stay on;
-
The cruise control is inoperative;
-
The stability control off message displayed in DIC.
This condition can be intermittent and upon investigation, DTC C0161 is stored in the BCM as either current or history.
This condition may be caused by an incorrectly calibrated brake pedal position sensor.
If you encounter a vehicle which is exhibiting any of these conditions, prior to replacing any parts, perform the brake pedal position (BPP) sensor
calibration with the Tech 2(R) as described below.
With the Tech 2(R) select the following:
1. Diagnostics
2. Model Year
3. Build the vehicle
4. Body
5. Body Control Module (BCM)
6. Module Setup
7. BPP Sensor Calibration
8. Then follow the Tech 2(R) prompts
