Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement (6.0L Engine)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the engine dress cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Engine Cover Replacement) .
2. Remove the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement (See: Powertrain
Management/Computers and Control Systems/Air Flow Meter/Sensor/Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the upper section of the air box. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and
Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair) .
4. Place a large suitable container under the vehicle in order to collect draining fluid.
5. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose bracket to subframe retaining bolt (4).
Important: The power steering fluid reservoir (1) must be plugged to prevent the entry of foreign particles into the power steering
system.
6. Release the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose spring clamp (2) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (3)
from the power steering fluid reservoir (1).
7. Plug the power steering fluid reservoir (1).

8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Spoilers, Flaps, and Air Dams/Air Dam/Service
and Repair) .
