SUBJECT:
TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL INDICATOR UNSEATS 2-3 INCHES AFTER DRIVING (INSTALL NEW INDICATOR)
MODELS:
1994 BUICK SKYLARK
1994 OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA
1994 PONTIAC GRAND AM WITH 2.3L ENGINE
(RPOS L40 AND LD2 - VINS 3 AND D) AND 4T60E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE
Condition:
Some owners may experience the fluid level indicator unseating 2-3 inches after driving.
Cause:
The transaxle fluid level indicator binds in fluid fill tube causing indicator to unseat 2-3 inches after driving.
Correction:
Install new fluid level indicator, P/N 22598504. New indicator has red handle with the words "TRANS FLUID" in black. Vehicles built after the VIN
breakpoints have the revised fluid level indicator installed in production. See illustration.
