Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away
from any underhood electric fan. To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always
be replaced.
1. Inspect the abnormal noise or the vibration if felt from the engine compartment. Check for dirt or the mud build up on fan blades.
2. Clean the dirt or mud build up from the fan blades if abnormal noise or vibration is felt from the engine compartment.
3. Remove the air cleaner and the duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement or Air Cleaner Element Replacement in Powertrain
Management.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the fan motors and the clips.
5. Remove the fan mounting bolts.
6. Remove the fans.
