Image ghosting is an expected phenomenon with a Head-Up Display (HUD) system. The ghost is a faint, secondary image which appears above or next
to the brighter, primary image. The following percentages represent the maximum amount of ghosting on the speedometer digits that may be seen from
the vertical or the horizontal positions:

50% overlap in a horizontal direction

125% ghost separation in a vertical direction
A complaint of unacceptable ghosting may occur after a windshield replacement if a HUD windshield was not installed. The HUD windshields are
selected by sorting the non-HUD windshields for acceptable image ghosting. A HUD windshield from GMSPO will contain a removable HUD sticker.
View the HUD image from both a high and a low head position, using the image adjust control, in order to verify the amount of ghosting Have another
person view the HUD image, as well. Three power binoculars (opera glasses) are helpful in determining the amount of the ghosting.
