Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair
Rear Seat Retractor Side Belt Replacement

Removal Procedure

Description

Tools Required

J 29843-9 Door Lock Striker and Seat Belt Torx(R) Wrench

1. Remove the rear seat cushion and the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back in Seats and Carpet.
2. Remove the rear quarter upper and lower trim panels. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim and Quarter Lower Trim in Rear Quarters.
3. Remove the retractor side belt to floor anchor bolt.
4. Remove the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Trim Panel in Body Rear End.
5. Remove the rear sound insulator.
6. Use the J 29843-9.
7. Remove the retractor side belt from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

J 29843-9 Door Lock Striker and Seat Belt Torx(R) Wrench

1. Install the retractor side belt to the vehicle. Be sure to seat the alignment tabs.

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Use the J29843-9.

Tighten
Tighten the retractor side belt bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb. ft).

3. Install the rear sound insulator.
4. Install the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Trim Panel in Body Rear End.
5. Install the retractor side belt to the floor anchor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the retractor side belt bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

6. Install the rear quarter lower and upper trim panels. Refer to Quarter Lower Trim and Quarter Upper Trim in Rear Quarters.
7. Install the rear seat back and cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back in Seats and Carpet.
