Liftgate Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution:  When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to
the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Open the liftgate and support.
2. Remove the liftgate trim panel.
3. Mark the location of the liftgate hinges with a grease pencil.
4. Remove the liftgate struts.
5. Remove the hinge to liftgate bolts.
6. Remove the hinge to body nuts.
7. Remove the hinges one at a time.
