Vibe L4-1.8L VIN L (2003)
4. Install the shift select cable bracket and the 2 retaining nuts.

Tighten the retaining bolts to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the shift select cable to the cable support bracket.
6. Install the shift cable into the transaxle bracket, then install the retaining clip.
7. Connect the shift select cable to the transaxle, then secure the shift select cable with one lock washer and nut.

Tighten the shift select cable nut to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
8. Install the front heat shield on the vehicle.

Tighten the heat shield bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
9. Install the front exhaust pipe assembly.
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Install the inflatable restraint Sensing And Diagnostic Module (SDM) in the vehicle.
12. Install the manual shift lever in the vehicle.
13. Connect the H02S electrical connector.
14. Install the air cleaner assembly.
15. Connect the negative battery cable.
16. With the ignition switch in the LOCK position and the manual selector in the Park position, attempt to manually push the vehicle. Vehicle should
not move.
17. Verify that the vehicle CANNOT be driven in the Neutral position
18. Verify that the vehicle can be driven in D, 2, and L.
19. Verify that reverse gear DOES operate in R.
