Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Left Side

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling   (See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front seat back cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement (With Seat Back Board)   (See:

3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the side impact module.
4. Remove the side impact module fasteners (1).
5. Remove the side impact module (2).
6. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required

retention period. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Module Handling and Scrapping   (See: ).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the side impact module (2).
2. Install the side impact module fasteners (1).
3. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the side impact module.
