Shift Cable: Adjustments
MVA 4 Speed - Automatic Transmission

Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

1. Inspect the shift lever position.
2. When moving the shift lever from P to R with the ignition switch ON and the brake pedal depressed, make sure that the shift lever moves smoothly

and moves correctly into position.

3. Start the engine and make sure that the vehicle moves forward when moving the shift lever from N to D and moves rearward when moving the

shift lever to R. If the operation cannot be performed as specified, inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly and check the shift lever
assembly (1) installation condition.

4. Adjust the shift lever position.
5. Apply the parking brake and move the shift lever to N.
6. Remove the front floor console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
