Models Affected:

911 Carrera 2 and 911 Carrera 4 Model Year 1989 (K) and 1990 (L)

Concern:

Hot air from the engine heats up the right rear seat belt anchor bolt and deforms the plastic bolt cover.

Vehicle Information:

A modified anchor bolt cover is installed from production date: August 28, 1989

VIN:

96_LS450081 Coupe 96_LS460062 Targa

Repair Information:

The modified bolt cover can be installed in vehicles prior to the above VIN as follows:

Remove bolt cover and bolt (A in Figure). Install new bolt, bushing and cover (B in Figure). Torque bolt to 50
N-m (37 ft.lbs.).

Both sides, left and right should be modified.
