Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
0-Ring at Crankshaft Main Bearing - Removal And Refitting
Special tool required: P216 0-ring remover
Removal
1. Remove V-belt pulley.
2. Penetrate the rubher lip with a medium-sized screwdriver, push screwdriver beneath the rubber-covered edge of the metal housing and lever out
the 0-ring.
Warning: Do not damage the running faces on the crankshaft with the screwdriver.
Refitting
1. Lightly coat the 0-ring running surface with oil, then replace the 0-ring using special tool P 216.
2. Replace V-belt pulley.
The method descnbed ahove is suitable for removal of 0-rings without removal of the engine from the vehicle.
