WORK PROCEDURE 
Recall P02

Porsche 911 Carrera 2/4, Model Year 1989 to 1992 Replacement of the Rear Heater Blower Resistor

1.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2.

Open engine lid and install fender cover.

3.

Remove Resister "A".

-

Remove both cable connectors from the resistor. 

-

Snap resistor out of the air pipe "B".

4.

Install new resistor (with circuit breaker Part Number 964 616 550 02.

Reinstall both cable connectors to the new resistor. 

-

Snap resistor into the air pipe "B". (Electrical connectors must point down.)

IMPORTANT:
When installing the resistor into the air pipe, the snap engagement on top and bottom of the resistor must be clearly felt.

5.

Reinstall the battery ground cable.

6.

Close front hood.

7.

Function test.

-

Turn on the ignition. 

-

Set the heater/air conditioner control unit to maximum heat and set the fan switch to 0. The rear heater blower "C" must now operate at low
speed.

Should the rear heater blower not run or operate in the fast speed, see Workshop Manual 911 Carrera 2/4, Volume VI,
Diagnosis/Troubleshooting, Group 80/87, page 1-6.
