Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove wheels and disconnect brake line at hose support bracket.
3.
Depress pedal with a suitable device to prevent brake fluid from leaking from reservoir.
4.
Remove caliper retaining bolts and complete caliper.
5.
Remove grease cap from wheel hub.
6.
Loosen bearing adjustment nut and remove brake disc and bearing.
7.
Remove disc guard plate.
8.
Position aside carpet in luggage compartment covering shock towers.
9.
Remove cotter pins and castle nuts from tie rods and ball joints.
10.
Remove ball joint from strut using a suitable puller.
11.
Remove nut from the top of strut in front luggage compartment.
12.
Remove strut and install in vise.
13.
Reverse procedure to install.
