Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair
The transmission fluid should be changed and filter replaced at 25,000 mile intervals.
1.
Start engine, allow to reach normal operating temperature.
2.
Position vehicle on level surface.
3.
With engine Off, raise and support vehicle.
4.
Remove drain screw from transmission and allow transmission to drain.
5.
Remove transmission oil pan, then remove strainer using a Torx T 27 bit.
6.
Clean oil pan and strainer.
7.
Position strainer on transmission with a new O-ring, then install and torque retaining screws to 6 ft. lbs.
8.
Position transmission oil pan to case with a new seal, then install and torque retaining screws to 6 ft. lbs.

9.
Fill transmission, with Dexron IID/IIE type transmission fluid, through the quick fill device to the 30°F level, Figs. 1 and 2.
10.
Start engine and check fluid as described under checking fluid level.
