Axle Shaft Assembly: Service and Repair
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove cotter pin from hub castle nut.
3.
Remove castle nut with tools P42a, P36b, P44a, and P296.
4.
Remove Allen bolts from axle flanges.
5.
Remove axle shaft.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque axle shaft nuts to 31 ft. lbs. and halfshaft castle nut to 217-253 ft. lbs.
