installing door panel, replacing inner release
handle mechanism, bowden cable and
connection piece.

Work Procedure

Replacing inner door release handle and bowden cable.

1.

Disconnect battery and cover positive terminal.

Caution:

There is risk of injury from the airbag or power window regulator (comfort function)! Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery before
proceeding with further work.

2.

Remove door panel. Disassemble and remove inner door release handle. Refer to the 911 Carrera (996) Technical Manual, Group 7, Section 70 59
37 - Disassembling and assembling door trim panel.

2.1

Fit the new inner door release handle onto the door panel.

3.

Remove molded foam piece from the inside of the door in the area of the door lock.

4.

Remove mount (Figure 1, arrow) from the door.
