    The 911 is equipped with electronically controlled four wheel drive system. Front wheels are driven by a transfer box and a driveshaft running in the
central pipe. The four wheel drive system has a permanent division of 31% of the drive torque to the front axle and 69% to the rear axle. The static axle
load distribution is 60% to the rear axle and 40% to the front axle. The transverse lock is applied to reduce oversteer while driving the car in curves. The
interaxle lock stabilizes the vehicle when accelerating out of a curve, sends more drive torque to the slower turning axle by locking the transfer. The
locking effect is increased until equal wheel speeds are restored.
