Expansion Spring Removal

1. Remove expansion spring at caliper, and remove disc brake pads.
2. Remove mounting bolts from caliper support, disconnect the brake line and remove caliper.
3. Open bleed valve and using compressed air (adjust compressed air to 14 psi), gently force brake fluid out of caliper assembly.
4. Lay the caliper on a workbench, place a thin piece of wood between caliper pistons, apply air pressure to brake line opening and slowly push

pistons out of caliper bores.
Clean parts in alcohol and inspect bores and pistons for damage.

Position new piston sealing rings, dirt protection rings and spring plates for assembly, apply a suitable assembly grease to parts.

7. Gently push pistons into caliper bores, securing dust seal to caliper frame.

Fixed Four Piston Caliper

Mount caliper to support, noting direction of arrow on caliper frame (direction of rotor rotation) this must point toward front of car.
