Camshaft Gear/Sprocket: Procedures
Installing Camshaft Drive
1.
Install thrust washer and same number of removed shims on camshaft (sprocket flange is identical for both sides).
2.
Sprocket on camshaft is identical for both sides, however, the chain bearing center on the sprocket take-up flange is offset. Mount sprocket on
cylinder side 1 - 3 in such a manner that deeper recess faces rear. Deeper recess must face forward when mounting on cylinder side 4 - 6.
3.
Hold sprockets with Special Tool 9191 and tighten bolts with 120 Nm (87 ftlb) torque.
Note: First give threads of bolts a light coat of Optimoly HT.

Check and adjust parallelity of chain sprockets. See: Adjustments
