MEASURING PISTONS AND CYLINDERS
Cylinder
D1 = Measuring point for wear and ovality
30 mm beneath upper edge of cylinder
The cylinder is worn when the diameter at this measuring point exceeds the original diameter by 0.08 mm. The ovality of the cylinder is measured by
comparing axes a and b. The difference between a and b must not exceed 0.04 mm.
D2 = Measuring point for piston ring end clearance
Rings pushed in at level of cylinder base gasket.
Pistons
D = Measuring point for wear
Mahle piston = 18 mm
KS piston = 10 mm
